Awarded Life: in a good way!

At the recent Facility Management Association Industry Awards for Excellence 2023, our visionary Founder and Managing Director, George Stamas, along with our brilliant Corporate Ambassador & Advisory Board Member, Kristiana Greenwood, took centre stage as they were awarded with the prestigious title of Life Members of the FMA. This is not just an accolade; it’s an extraordinary honour, making them two of the esteemed 13 Life Members.

George and Kris have been driving forces behind the FMA’s remarkable journey over the years, playing pivotal roles on the Victorian Committee and Board. These have included:

George Stamas:

• National Board Director: 2010 – 2022
• Vice Chair of the National Board
• Finance Director and Member of the Board Audit & Risk Committee
• Chair of Portfolio Groups, Special Interest Groups and Strategy Task Groups
• Vic Branch committee – 4 years Vice Chair, 4 years Chair

Kris Greenwood

• National Board 2008 – 2022
• Chair of the National Board from 2015 to 2019
• Vic Branch Chair – 6 years

When Kris became Chair of the National Board in 2015 it was a monumental moment, not only for Kris, but for the FMA too, as the first female Chair.

“I have had the privilege of serving on the Victorian committee for many years as a committee member and then as the Victorian chair for four years. My transition to the board in 2008 was both exciting and terrifying but what a fantastic journey it was! Elected as the first female Chair of the FMA in 2015 and holding that position for two terms was probably one of the biggest highlights of my working life,” said Kris. “I’m incredibly honoured to awarded Life Member. It is such an incredible accolade”.
