JAMIE WALLIS – Senior Manager – Market Engagement at Green Building Council of Australia

BIO: Jamie is a Senior Manager at the Green Building Council of Australia and is based in Melbourne. He works extensively across the property sector, business, and government to design and deliver energy efficiency and sustainable design initiatives.

Jamie works to engage with new and existing members and Green Star project teams to identify opportunities and promote the growth and uptake of Green Star. Currently, Jamie is the strategic lead for the development of the Green Star Performance v2 rating tool which assesses sustainable operations and management of existing assets, setting the trajectory towards net zero for existing buildings.

With a diverse career that has seen her at the centre of some of the most innovative urban projects in Australia, Alex has returned to her core discipline of architecture to move and shape the next generation of thinking about resilience in design. Faced with this century’s ‘wicked’ problems, Alex is a strong believer that design thinking, systems thinking and holistic approaches to project inception, development and realisation are key to our sustainable future.

REBECCA JINKS – Head of Sustainability & ESG at Cushman & Wakefield (Asia Pacific)

BIO: Rebecca Jinks is currently the Head of Sustainability & ESG for Cushman & Wakefield’s Asia-Pacific business, comprised of over 60 specialists. She has a Master’s degree in sustainability and management with over 11 years ESG industry experience, having previously sat on the UNAAV Board in a voluntary capacity. Rebecca has a deep understanding of the interactions between ESG and the real estate industry. She has designed and delivered a range of ESG projects for occupiers and owners regionally including ESG disclosure, net zero planning and actioning, and ESG strategies to demonstrate responsible business practices in real-estate.

How almost 40% of global emissions are from the built environment and how, although the property industry is contributing to this problem, building assets are also being impacted through the extreme weather events climate change is causing.
